Warner Bros. will replace busted DVDs for “like-value” if they’re out of print
Last week, news came forward that almost all DVDs manufactured by Warner Bros. from 2006-2008 are unplayable at the time. It wasn’t clear if WB would make things right by replacing affected DVDs, but now we know a little more. Discs ranged from classic films to vintage cartoons.
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is aware of the issue and will work on rectifying the situation, including providing those affected with replacements where applicable and “like-value” replacements in cases where the disc is out-of-print with no possibility of it ending up back in print.
“Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is aware of potential issues affecting select DVD titles manufactured between 2006 – 2008, and the company has been actively working with consumers to replace defective discs.
Where possible, the defective discs have been replaced with the same title. However, as some of the affected titles are no longer in print or the rights have expired, consumers have been offered an exchange for a title of like-value.”
Now, though, it’s fair to issue a warning that people have been finding it difficult to actually get things resolved, though, WB does remain adamant that they’re working on it.
